Something was wrong. Something was seriously wrong. I turned and ran in the direction I sensed my father's energy in, somersaulting and taking flight, avoiding going too low or too high. I landed in front of a large estate and look a deep breath. Both of them, and the unique energy of the twins. I heard a louder, stronger heartbeat. Dashing inside, I stared at my mother who held a mortal's arm. She had this look of realization on her face, something that rarely happened. She knew everything!

"Daddy?" She whispered. "I don't know who you are! My child is Monique Duval, and she's gone!" The man screamed in agony. "I'm so . . . Sorry," She whispered as she glanced at the spot she had killed my grandmother in. The man turned around and looked at me. "Who in God's name are you?" He asked me angrily. "Alice Adrienne Brown," I whispered quietly, taking a defensive stance. "No, Alice!" Mom screamed at me. "He's my father," She breathed, taking me into her arms. "She had no kids, and she certainly didn't look dead!" My grandfather screamed. He took a glance at me and my father and screamed. He must have been responding to my resemblance to Mom when she was half human. "No, Daddy, I'm Monique! This is. . . My new fiance` and his daughter," She whispered. Step daughter? How could she say that Dad wasn't Adrian and that I wasn't hers? He seemed to believe it, staring at me intently. "She looks like my Monique, not the one I'm looking at now. How? She has his hair, and she looks like a miniature you," He noted. "Dad, I have something to tell you. It's a long story, and I don't think you can stand for very long, so pop a squat and listen," Mom said, as if she were 15. He took a seat and she started.

"Alice is mine. And Adrian's," She said slowly, looking for his reaction. He got this look on his face, a look of disgust.. "You're crazy. Adrian is dead, Monique, that isn't possible." "No, I'm not," Dad interjected. "This is Adrian?" He said, nodding towards my dad. "Yes. We're. . . Not of the living. I died about a month ago. Alice resulted from our relationship while we were human, before that wretch killed us. Adrian brought Alice back, and now here we stand. And we have two more on the way," She said casually, motioning towards her stomach. He looked absolutely shocked. He stood up and looked me up and down. "She looks like she's 13," He noted. I nodded softly. "Physically, yes, but I'm actually only a few months old. Daddy made sure I got what I wanted and now I'm in high school. He aged me," I said quietly, barely audible for his ears. He looked at Mom and Dad and glared. "It's time for you two, I mean five, to go," He said coldly. Mom looked hurt. "I understand you don't like Adrian. Nobody seemed to," She muttered bitterly and grabbed his chair. She easily crushed it and stared at him with bright orange eyes. "You don't have to like him, but you will respect him," were the words uttered from her perfect lips when she opened her eyes.

"Your eyes!" He shouted. I laughed. "I could easily kill you and inherit this house because you left it to me!" She shouted angrily. "No!" Dad gasped as she leapt for this man's throat. I heard his scream stop before it even started as Mom put him into a coma so she could finish the job. Dad yanked her off of him and I saw the energy burns on the man's neck. "What are the police going to think if they find your father dead in his home?" Dad asked her angrily. "He's old. They would think it was natural, and besides, there's a death certificate printed on me. The police couldn't punish me!" She said coldly. She resumed her position, ignoring the fact that Dad was yanking her away. She stood up and sighed. "I needed that. He's alive, but ask the neighbors to use the phone and say my dad is out cold and you heard screaming. Alice and I will be at home," Mom said.

Suddenly, I was up in her arms and we were in our home. "You teleport?" I asked, shocked. She nodded, and Dad was here seconds after us. "The police were on their way, I didn't stick around," He whispered as he kissed Mom quickly on her lips. "I'll be upstairs," She whispered as she faded away. Dad kissed me on the forehead and flew straight to their room.

Then I felt hands dragging me out the window and all went black.
