I heard her talking about it this morning . . .

She was on the phone in her bedroom, sprawled across the lounge chair. I didn't have my glasses on, but I saw a tear drip down her cheek. I bowed my head, and continued my walk of shame.

Was it just a coincidence that I heard "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus on the radio the same time my mom was in grief about my dad's cancer, or was it a message? Was someone trying to tell my something . . .

There was no way I could be sure.

Life is a roller coaster ride, and it is something full of wonderful surprises. Each day, when I wake up at 5:45 in the morning to go to school, I am taking a risk. I am willing to get up every day to see what the day has to hold for me, even if there may be things that I don't want to come. But I get up anyway instead of staying in my room -- afraid of what might become of me. I have to be honest, I am eager to live. I look forward to waking up every morning. But I have to be sincere, I do fall asleep every night, afraid that I might never wake up again to see what mysterious tomorrow may hold.

I have realized that, well, I'm not always going to right and there are other people that are going to be wrong. I do try to reach out and correct injustice, but there are people who may not listen. Me, at 12 years old, I still have a lot of learning to do and my journey in this world of tragedy is not over. I will live to see tomorrow, and I will endure whatever I can. I will carry the load on my shoulders because I know it was put there for a reason.

There is no use in sitting around and crying, because everything you go through is a lesson to prepare you for greater things come. We have to believe that we can rise up against the evil-doers and the people that thrive on temptation. There is no struggle that we can not over come. Death is a powerful subject and it is based on your religious beliefs. Where will we go after our time on earth? Where will the rest of me be deposited after they place me in the ground . . . Along with a bunch of old people? But, those are not the questions we should be thinking about . . . For it is the climb we need to live out. Live life to it's fullest and treat every day like it was your last.

You can spend your life looking for something you can think you will never find. You can search for love. You can seek out fortune. You can look for a purpose for living. You may think you have looked for centuries and there is no evidence of anything you are looking for -- no trace or path. But, you have the power to find love, fortune, and you have a reason for your existence. If you look around you and look at the world for one second, despite the fatalities and the war, you may see that everything you have been looking for is right in front of you. You have been holding it during your expedition and it has been smacking you in the face the entire time. But you never looked down and smiled upon it. But finally, when you think you have reached the depths, you find it.

People have criticized me about who I am. They have criticized me on my looks, my knowledge, my gender, and my personality in general. I have been around the block a time or two, and I am experienced enough to know that it hurts. The degrading words people have said to my friends and I are terrible things to say. At my young age, I know nothing but unkind words to say and I have had my share of rude comments towards others. But who am I to criticize someone on who they are? I act as if I am 100% better at an activity than they are or as if I am even prettier. My knowledge and my mature personality is a gift and I must not abuse it like I have done in the past.

Why do YOU, yeah that's right I'm talking to you mister, criticize someone on the wrong they do? We each have our flaws and life is nothing but a learning experience. Take for example the Whyville Times BBS. I have learned from the BBS numerous writing strategies and about other cultures. But the words that fly around, the degrading phrases, and hurtful comments that have nothing to do with the article, are heart breaking.

"Live like you were dying." -Tim McGraw
"It's the climb." -Miley Cyrus
"When you get the chance to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance." -Lee Ann Womack
"When you figure out love is all that matters after all it sure makes everything else, seem so small." -Carrie Underwood
"You can love someone with all your heart, for all the right reasons. But one day they can choose to walk away. But you love them anyway." - Martina McBride
"Yeah, the good LORD gave us mountains so we can learn how to climb." -Rascal Flatts

These are a couple quotes from a few of my favorite songs (As you can see I like a lot of country). They remind me of who I am and the dream I am dreaming.

I just want to free fall.
