Does the name sound familiar? To people who were at the holocaust Memorial Museum on June 10, the name should produce an image of an elderly man, the sound of gunshots, and an African-American security guard, whose wounds were proved to be fatal.
James Von Burn, an elderly man (age 88), a supremacist, was identified to have a rifle the instant he stepped into the Museum. After opening fire on a security guard, Stephen T. Johns, he was immediately being shot at by multiple other security guards. Mr. Burn was hospitalized, leaving behind him a trail of despair, hatred, and confusion.
Mr. Burn has an anti-Semitic, racist Web site, and believe it or not, he wrote a book titled, "Kill the Best Gentiles". James was convicted of attempting to kidnap members of the Federal Reserve Board in 1983, and served over 6 years in prison. Two years prior to the incident, he was arrested outside of the room where the board had been meeting. He was found with a revolver, sawed-off shotgun, and a knife. At the time, police said, "Von Burn wanted to take the members hostage because of high interest rates and the nation's economic difficulties."
Burn is known for writing things similar to: the Holocaust was a hoax and decry a Jewish conspiracy to "destroy the white gene pool."
Let me tell you now, when I heard the news, I felt like steam would come out of my ears, and rage would bubble out of my mouth. Punching a pillow at the time wouldn't be enough to bring me back to the normal world. Not only was I furious this man had killed a security guard, but what angered me further was that it was at the Holocaust Memorial museum. I can sympathize with Grace in many ways as far as my feelings for the Holocaust, and the things this man wrote are so horrible and degrading to the Holocaust and Jewish race as a whole that it's hard to feel any kindness towards him. After all, this is the man who wrote that the Holocaust was a hoax and a Jewish conspiracy.
If the world has come to this, I wonder what's in store.
