Author's Note: This is an assignment that I had to do for school, called an "I Am" poem. It's written like this:
I am (two special characteristics you have).
I wonder (something you are actually curious about).
I hear (an imaginary sound).
I see (an imaginary sight).
I want (an actual desire).
I am (first line of poem repeated)
I pretend (something you actually pretend to do).
I feel (a feeling about something imaginary).
I touch (an imaginary touch).
I worry (something that really bothers you).
I cry (something that makes you very sad).
I am (the first line of the poem repeated).
I understand (something you know is true).
I say (something you believe in).
I dream (something you actually dream about).
I try (something you really make an effort about).
I hope (something you really hope for).

It's a poem all about you: things you like, things you say, do, dream, believe, feel, wonder, and everything else. I had a lot of fun writing my poem, but sometimes I really had to think about it. Here is mine:
I am a creative girl who loves to write and read.
I wonder if I will ever have a book published.
I hear my ideas bouncing around inside my head.
I see a humongous library packed full of big, heavy books.
I want to be a very famous author.
I am a creative girl who loves to write and read.
I pretend to sign autographs.
I feel the excitement in the air as a new book is released.
I touch the lives of people through my writing.
I worry that people will laugh at my writing.
I cry when my hard work is wasted.
I am a creative girl who loves to write and read.
I understand that I'll have to work hard to reach my goals.
I say, shoot for the stars.
I dream that I'm a famous author living in England.
I try to make time to write and read every day.
I hope that my dreams come true, and I am able to achieve my goals.
