I am sick and tired of it. Most of you are sick and tired of it, too. What are we sick and tired of? Being hostile towards each other.
It is getting out of control, people. Personal attacks, attacks in general, and flaming anybody in any thread are out of control. What's the point? Are you trying to claim some sort of dominance or superiority? It is ridiculous! Why are you flaming that Newbie, or the random girl who is sitting in the corner in Beach South? Are you accomplishing anything by being rude to them? Nope. You're only accomplishing making yourself look like a total jerk. And let's face it, we don't want our reputations to be bad. Infamous for being hostile and rude is NOT a good way to be known throughout Whyville.
It is ridiculous how Whyvillians are acting. Can we control and attempt to put out the fire, please? Or are we going to continue to be rude and attack each other like we're proud of it? I will admit, even I have flamed people. But it's time for someone to make a change, why can't we be that change we desire?
There was one Burn Book that spiked up everybody's attention. More were made. Sadly, some of the people on those lists were not lied about. Some of them are rude, mean, evil, and just flat out annoying. Think about that for a minute when you're wondering why you're on a Burn List if you're mean to people. Maybe consider apologizing to everybody and turning a new cheek.
Look at the Whyvillians who are caring. There are so many of them that will randomly give out clams to Newbies! Why can't everybody be like them? In fact, so many people will randomly give out clams. I remember being a Newbie and someone sent me 100 clams. It wasn't much, but they were caring enough to give me what they could! What if every Newbie had that opportunity? I think it would be wonderful and they would probably be caring if they stayed on long enough to earn plenty of clams.
Fighting in the BBS is especially out of control. Threads that are started as a statement or question turn into full out fights. Fights randomly start for no reasons. If you clearly read the rules for BBS, you will see that it says remain respectful. You should probably listen to that. It was put there for a reason, not to sit there and look pretty.
What I'm saying is, be the change we want so badly. Make Whyville a better place again, people. We can make Whyville however we act. If we act badly and rudely, Whyville will NOT have active users after a while.
Remain respectful in the BBS. If you want to see peace on Whyville, just help the rest of us who do and show it.
