Author's Note: I was considering writing a rap for a music class I have so I tried and this is what I came up with. I'm not sure I'll actually use it because I'd have to perform it for the class and rap isn't really the kind of music I make, but I tried to do some lyrics in that style anyway.

This generation generatin' hate,
we've got no love.
Look out the window I see bullets fly
instead of doves.

Am I the only one, the only one
who sees the light?
Or am I the only one
willin' to fight instead of hide?

Sometimes you gotta stand and be true,
stop playin' all these games and just start doin' you.

Nothin' worth havin' in this life comes easy,
I see hunger in so many eyes that stand beneath me,
see all these children puttin' fronts up, tryin' to hide the truth.
They got no options and no options means they gotta choose
a life of crime and drugs and violence, they just fall in deep-
machines set on repeat; they ain't eva gonna sleep.

And I say

can you believe, can you believe
that now it's come to this?
There's nothing left between the lines
so now they just give in.

And every parent givin' up
before they'll hold the fort.
Instead of pillars for the ceilings
they're like locked up doors.

But sometimes you gotta shoulder through
stop playin' all these games and just start doin' you.

Nothin' worth havin' in this life comes easy,
I see hunger in so many eyes that stand beneath me,
see all these children puttin' fronts up, tryin' to hide the truth
they got no options and no options means they gotta choose
a life of crime and drugs and violence, they just fall in deep-
machines set on repeat; they ain't eva gonna sleep
