Here's that article I've been promising. These are quick fixes and hairstyles for dull, plain, flat, dry, crackly, crunchy, and lifeless hair. Or there are also just some regular do's for your everyday styles if you want a little change. My feel about my hair like my Mom feels about hers. If it's dead or limp I'll cry. If it doesn't want to cooperate and is being stubborn, I'll get angry at it. But at the end of the day I love, love, love it and I would absolutely break down if I lost it.
My hair is my most prized possession on my body and every now and then I like to do something special, like maybe curl it or put it up in a ponytail. Ponytails don't happen often but I like to put it in a half-ponytail with it curled. When I'm feeling energetic I'll sometimes play with it and braid it all over, sleep in it, and get some crimps the next day. Here are some quick styles you can do easily.
Quick Fixes
* If your hair is limp and unruly, try parting your hair different. Even thought it'll feel a little weird to your head, it'll add volume.
* If it gets too oily for you to handle, try taking a tiny amount of baby powder (either the size of a dime or one teaspoon), rub it in your palms, and either pat it on and push it up with your fingers at the roots, as if you're primping up, or pull it through your hair starting at the roots.
* If it is extremely short, try putting wax or gel in it in order to 'freeze' it into your wanted style.
* BANGS! That's the thing not many people talk about in hair articles. Try pinning back the hair that isn't your bangs. Run them under the sink or bend down over the tub, dab about half a dime size squirt of shampoo, condition, and re-style. This way you won't have to wash your whole head and you can focus only on your bangs.
* If your hair is long, just do a ponytail. It doesn't mater if it's high or low. You can hairspray and smooth it down, or do a loose ponytail.
* For frizzy hair, try gels while your hair is still wet. Don't blow dry. Allow the hair to dry by itself.
* Put styling product on your bangs and blow dry them in the direction you want them to go. If you want them to lay straight blow dry down. If you want them to curve outwards, blow dry on low from the bottom.
* If you have split ends, try twisting your hair very tight, and snipping off the little hairs that stick out the side.
Hairstyles
Front Hair Poof
- Part out a section of you hair from temple to temple.
- Tease it at the roots from the back just a little.
- At about four fingers wide, twist it (not all the way down).
- Push it up a little until you have your desired poofiness.
- Bobby pin in an X and you're done!
Chopstick Style (very easy)
- Pull your hair back and up as if you were about to put it into a ponytail.
- Take a "chopstick" hair stick and put it under the ponytail.
- Twist it around with hair once, or how ever many times it takes and push the hair stick in.
(If my words don't help, you can always look it up in a video for a better understanding.)
Messy Bun
- Gather your hair on top of your head.
- Wrap it in an elastic at least 2-3 times.
- Shape with a couple of bobby pins, and pull out a few strands to make it look even messier.
- Hairspray. (Don't make it look too messy. We're going for sexy hair not hobo hair).
Chic Pony
- Tease your hair at the crown of your head and pull back into a low, loose ponytail.
- Leave a half-inch strand out and secure the rest with a clear elastic.
- Take the abandoned strand and wrap it around the elastic and secure with a bobby pin matching your hair color.
Crimps
- Divide your hair into 3-5 or more sections equally (or different sizes for a more fun look).
- Braid those sections as tight as you can. Optional: Spray a thermal-protective hair spray on the braids.
- Take a straightening iron and run it over the braids to help them stay longer. (If you're on the go you can use the straightening iron, but to save it for the next day, when you get out of the shower, pat your hair damp, braid, and then sleep in them.)

This will have 2 instructions: one for the Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Collection, and one without.
