Whew! I've just returned from a ferocious shopping trip on Black Friday, and I'm pooped. But I can't rest, for the holidays are just around the corner! Let's say you and I get ready over a cup of non-alcoholic eggnog and a craft table? I've got the perfect idea for a nice cold day spent with the hot glue gun.

For this week's craft, you'll need: Two candy canes, a hot glue gun, ribbon, and scissors.

This is one of my all-time favorite crafts. So let's get to it!

First off, you'll want to plug in your hot glue gun to heat up. For you younger kiddies, make sure you've got a parent around. Wouldn't want to burn those little fingers.

After your glue gun is heated, lay two candy canes on your surface so that they make the shape of a heart, like so:

Carefully glue together the ends of the candy canes so that they keep the heart shape, and let them cool.

Next, cut a red ribbon to about 8 or 9 inches long. Tie this around the top of the heart, and glue into place so that you can hang it on a Christmas tree.

And viola! The simplest ornament ever. If you'd like to take it a step farther, you may glue a small picture onto the back.

As always, feel free to experiment with this craft. Try using mini candy canes, flavored ones, or using a picture of you and a friend for a personalized gift. Have fun and be original.

That's all I've got for now . . . so I'm off to enjoy some leftover cheesecake. Ciao!
