On November 28, I finished my book "Seekers 2: Great Bear Lake" by Erin Hunter. First of all, I'm proud to announce that I think that is my favorite book! I'll tell you why . . .
Summary:
The main characters in this captivating story are three bears named Lusa (a black bear), Kallik, (a polar bear), and Toklo (a grizzly bear). (Who can't have a good bear book without a Grizzly!) The three bears go on a long journey. Lusa escaped from the 'Bear Bowl' (the zoo she lived in) and goes to find Toklo. She has to give him a very important message. Kallik, our story's polar bear, is on a journey to find her brother. They were separated from each other after their mother's death caused by an Orca Whale. I don't want to spoil anything, so you will have to read the book to find out if Kallik and her brother are reunited or not, and if they all come together on the longest day where they meet at Great Bear lake!
My opinion on the book:
I absolutely loved it! I give it five out of five stars. It didn't take me long to read it, but I liked it so much I might even read it again. The pages took me away; in my mind, I saw all the drama and adventures unfolding in front of me. The book swept me off my feet, and it may do the same to you. Now, here is my favorite paragraph from the book. It intrigued me; maybe you will feel the same. I hope you do . . .
"Kallik gazed after him, the cold lake water washing around her paws. In all the times she had imagined finding her brother at the end of her long, long journey, she had never once dreamed that he would not be pleased to see her." - Chapter 17, page 179
I just love reading that paragraph for some reason. I don't know why but I just love it's details. It really told me how Kallik felt, and every good reader knows that a good writer can make you feel for their characters. Once you read the book, you will realize why I love that paragraph. So go out and read it today! Check it out from your local library, order it from Amazon, buy it at Barnes and Noble - just do anything to get this book in your hands and the words circling in your head!
Well, thanks for reading my article. Like I said, go out and read it. Who knows; this may become your all time fave too! I know it worked it's magic on me.
This is Hailey311 signing off, and hurrying to get another book!
