Hey it's me again! You're probably thinking, "Oh . . . It's that girl again talking about another book." But this book I absolutely LOVED. I read the book "Ultra Maniac 1" by Wataru Yoshizumi, which was a fascinating book. Well, it wasn't a book with no pictures, with only words going on and on -- it was actually a comic!

I got interested in this book because I saw it at my school book fair. I was scanning the shelves and then out of nowhere something hit me. Hard. Well it didn't actually hit me, it was just that I saw a book with a cover that looked REALLY interesting. I looked at it picked it up, but as I picked it up I noticed something. The spine of the book was on the right side. I was really puzzled because I knew that the spine was suppose to be on the left side. I went home and did some research and realized, that is how they make books in Japan! Instead of reading left to right, they read right to left! I bought the book and started reading it. I finished it in about a day since it was a comic. When I was done, I was stunned. The book was amazing!

Summary

A girl named Ayu Tateishi is a girl in middle school who makes a friend named Nina Sakura. She looks like a normal classmate but she doesn't act like it, because turns out she isn't a normal classmate. She's a witch. Nina is a witch who actually flunked out of witch school. Nina loses an item that is very important to her and Ayu finds it so, Nina decides to thank Ayu which is a horrible idea. Because she is thanking Ayu with MAGIC! Like I said she is HORRIBLE with magic. Nina tries to thank Ayu, but all she is really doing is making Ayu look very foolish in front of the boy she loves, Tetsushi Kaji. Nina has made it very bad for Ayu. You will have to read the book to find out if Ayu makes it through Nina's frightening magic.

What I Thought

I really enjoyed this book and I'm hoping to read the other books. They're hard to find since they are Japanese books. I loved the drawings in this book. I like reading about fantasy things so this book really fit in, since Nina is a witch. The part I really enjoyed reading about was whenever Nina did her magic on Ayu. She turned into a lot of things that she thought were good, but turns out it they weren't. My favorite part of the book is when Nina made a ring for 'Ayu Dear' that looked like a regular ring, but whenever a boy poked her it shocked them badly. She even shocked a teacher! I am so glad my sister is going to Japan. I might even ask her to look for the books and send me them.

Well I know you all want to go out and get this book. A good place to buy it is at Barnes & Nobles. They have all five of the books. So, you might as well buy 'em and try 'em out! I know I told you to read "Seekers" but . . . well, just buy them and read "Seekers" THEN read "Ultra Maniac" or, if you can't resist read them right away.

Well, this is hailey311 leaving to find another book to stick my head in! See Ya!
