Hi, this is edenglish reporting again. This time I am reporting about a cool, chic, and fun toy that America has been playing with since 1945, when it was created by Gimbels in Pennsylvania (which is where all Slinkies have been made).
250 million Slinkies have been sold (that's enough for everyone in the US to have one!) There are MANY different types of Slinkies:
There are colorful ones,
black ones,
American made steel ones, and more.
The fun thing about Slinkies, is that you can do many things with them. The most fun thing, though, is you can make it go downstairs:
Slinkies were originally one dollar, but now they stay around that price range. The Slinky "jingle" has been on TV since 1962, and is now one of the most recognizable TV toy songs in America.
The Slinky Jingle:
What walks down stairs, alone or in pairs, and makes a slinkity sound?
A spring, a spring, a marvelous thing! Everyone knows it's Slinky.
It's Slinky, it's Slinky. For fun it's a wonderful toy.
