I miss those wondrous years of pure relaxation and serenity. No worries about whether you'll ever finish your essay on the moon landing hoax or whether you'll have somewhere to sit at lunch. None of those nights where your pillow is drowned in salty tears and your sobs are muffled by your blanket you once laid calmly and restlessly upon as a mere child. I really do miss those days of pure bliss at the sight of a new cartoon episode, or the first day in JK. Ah, those days when you thought the biggest problem that would occur would be that the next time you and your family went for an ice-cream treat, they wouldn't have chocolate mint.

Remember your acne-free face that would cuddle up with a teddy bear, or your soft skin that would grasp your mother's bony hand? Ah, good old days where you thought nothing could be better than a daily visit to the local pool or playground. Those days when we didn't think about the words blurted out in another language foreign to you from your mother to your father. You didn't think about the result of those cruel, harsh foreign words. It was all a game. A happy, care-free game we all played. The game we took as a joke called Life, when we were wee toddlers. I miss it dearly. Don't you too?

But then I think of my parents and their problems; their debt, their hassle to swiftly get me to dance and then go buy groceries. The long car rides that we take everyday that take me to dance. All about me. I think I have the weight of the world on my shoulders just because I found a new zit on my nose. Then I think, it's not so bad to be where I am. When I get older, I'll worry more until I'll drown in worry. And then, only then can I look back and say, I miss my childhood, because right now I still have it.

Long live childhood,
