Happy Valentine's Day, Whyville! Today is such a nice day full of love and happiness, isn't it? Well, of course it is, but I know how you can make it even better!
Donate. Yes, that's it. Donate to the American Heart Association! Why? Because there are people out there less fortunate than you and me because they're hearts are sick. They may not be pumping blood fast enough, may be pumping TOO fast, or even just not developed right. But you can help them by making a little donation to the American Heart Association. You can make their hearts bloom, on the best day of all, Valentine's Day.
If you do this, I'm sure you'll smile and that person will smile! I know I am smiling as I raise money for children with sick hearts right this very moment for Jump Rope for Heart, a program in which you raise money and jump rope while learning about your heart. So, why don't you get with the program and donate? Here's how!
First, go to www.americanheart.org. Next, click on the donate button at the top of the screen. (Make sure to talk to your parents/guardians first). Then, choose the amount you wish to give and how you'll be paying. Finally, smile because you've just contributed in helping to save someone's life!
But you don't have to stop there! Oh no you really don't! You can ask your school to look into organizing a Jump Rope for Heart or Hoops for Heart program. Or what about holding a walk-a-thon, fundraiser, or campaign? It's all in your hands now, Whyville. Get motivated and get moving! Get ready to go on an amazing journey!
*This is Cohenlm wishing you a very happy "Heart" Day!
*Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I know you can help them,
But the question is,
Will you?
Author's Note: There are many ways to donate to the American Heart Association. You can find out by visiting www.americanheart.org. There is also information about health and heart disease on the website. It's interesting what you can find!
