Don't Worry About It

Hey all! Hows it goin'? Me, I'm doing great. I'm especially pleased because my article (What has Whyville Become?) was published in the Times! (Thanks a lot, Times Editor!) But anyway, I would like to talk about individuality and how it has become in some people's eyes a crisis, or maybe just another topic to talk about in our Whyville society.

I would like to say that, no matter what you look like, you will ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS be an individual! I mean, I assure you that there is not one person in Whyville that looks exactly the same. And no one has exactly the same personality or attitude. I think that nowadays people are WAY too judgmental on the way people look. I'll go to the Playground and I'll see so many blondes and it'll blind me. But why do goth people or whomever you may be care so much that blondes are.... well... blondes??

I don't CARE what people look like! I don't care if you're short, fat, tall, thin, blue, green, white, black, ugly (LoL), pretty, have WHY-POX, or if you're blonde, brunette, redhead, orange head, or whatever you may look like. I think that there is SOOO much more to worry about in life than what you appear to be. Only someone really really shallow will judge you on what you look like.

Getting back to what I was GOING to say... When other people write individuality articles in the Times, they say things similar to this: Be different! Don't have blonde hair and blue eyes! Well, what if people want to have blonde hair and blue eyes? I mean, come on people! Why do you care what other people look like anyway? Worry about your own appearance, not that of anyone else.

But, it is pretty cool to look different. I don't try to follow the crowd, and wearing blonde hair isn't necessarily following the crowd. When you think about it, how many hair colors are there anyway? "Following the crowd", in my eyes, doesn't really exist, because there are only so many things to buy on Whyville and there are only so many things to make!

Well, that's about all I can think of saying right now. I'm pretty tired. But people, just wear what you want to wear! Don't worry about being individual or non-individual (LoL, if that's even a word.) If this article gets published, it may seem a little pointless, but, as I am writing it, it doesn't seem very pointless at all.

Sincerely,
Pinelope
