Mirror, mirror,
on the wall.
Who is the prettiest
of them all?

The reflection tells me,
the yes or no answer that I'm looking for
But it isn't something that I adore
Rather, I hate the answer, and I want to throw it on the floor!

What is this answer?
Of course, it is no;
otherwise, my anger would not be so.

With wistful eyes,
I wish I wasn't despised,
by the many people that surround me
Oh, and especially, those popular girls
They practically laugh at me,
grinning and giggling

Points and smiles,
smirks and furrowed brows
It makes me sad -- I can't help what I look like!
Finally, I decide that I need to be skinny

I need to go on a diet --
that's it!
But I can't do this,
unlike the other girls.

Desperate, I go towards another case
Perhaps this would be the winner,
that would decide my fate
Will I ever be so popular?

However, in my anxious excitement,
I glance at the girl beside me
She gives be a smile --
a friendly grin.

As I observe her, I frown
How could she be so happy,
in those rags that she wears?

But she told me the pure truth.
It was solid, and it was right.
"Look inside!" she told me.

That night,
I ponder over what she said
Maybe she was correct!

I looked at the mirror on the wall,
but then I smirked and ditched it.
Then I looked over my heart,
and sighed.

I had a lot of work to do.

The task has succeeded;
successful it was.

Mirror, mirror,
on the wall.
Who is the prettiest
of them all?

"No one's perfect," I whisper.
"And you know what?
I don't think appearance on the outside matters.
That girl in the weird clothes had a good heart."
