Words to Live By

Hello all, this is favchicky here. I was wondering if anyone has ever
thought about the music they listen to. Now, I personally like all types of
music...rock, pop, rap, country, classical, hip hop, dance, tech, and the rest.
But who actually listens to the music? I don't mean listening with your ears, I
mean listening with your heart.
Now, I can hear you all saying, "That is so corny, how do I listen with my
heart?" Well, music is poetry. The author is using music and visual aides to get
their points and feelings across to the viewers in a poetic way.
Maren Ord sings, "What if the world was a little more perfect?" in her song
"Perfect". And what if it was? Would there be war, would there be hate? You
can't help but deeply wonder and wander into these songs.
In Amanda Marshal's song "Everybody's Got a Story", she tells us that every one has something inside them, hurting. They may be the smartest person in the world and no one even knows it. They may have lost their families or live in pain silently. You gotta open up to yourself and others.
In Jessica Andrews' song, "Who I Am", she clearly tells the world that she is proud to be herself. Then Eminem tell the his fans that he is his own person, sick of what other people are trying to make him. He just wants to live his own life with his family unbothered by publicity both good and bad. Nelly tells us that he is the one and only.
Then Sarah McLachlan sings that angels may watch over us. I actually associate this with the Sept. 11 attacks, as she sings in "Angel" that "may the arms of the angels" watch over us.
And then N*sync says that they have their own style and it isn't just a stunt, in the song "Pop".
All these sons tell of individuality, sadness or realistic issues in the
society of today. If you really listen to the words then you will realize that
they mean much more than more money for the music companies. They truly are
words to live by.
