People don't realize how truthful this statement is. There is no one in this world who knows you better than you know yourself. You may share everything with another person, but even they don't come close to knowing you as well as you know yourself. You control what you think, what you say, what you feel. Every decision in your life is completely up to you; no one else can decide anything for you.
Don't act a certain way just because you believe people will like you more. You're just suppressing the real you, and ultimately you are lying to yourself. Who cares what other people think? If they don't like you for yourself, then they are not worth it. Say what you feel, dress how you want, believe in what you want to believe.
You can only be loved for yourself. You can be deceitful to make someone love you, but in the end they will love you for all the wrong reasons. They will love you for the idea that you have implanted in their heads, not for the actual you. They won't truly love you, because they do not know the real you.
Do what you love; do what makes you happy. Forget what others say, and just live your life the way you want to live it. Be who you want to be, and never let anyone stand in your way. Follow your own dreams, not the ones others have dreamed for you.
