"Are you sure it was me?" Nadia asked. She was stunned at what the girls were saying. What kind of person was she in this world? A murderer? A thief? She would never know unless she asked.

"I'm positive it was you, now go away." The girl who looked a bit older shooed Nadia away from her with clenched fists. Obeying the girl's orders, Nadia turned around and started feeling different than she had before. She wasn't confused anymore. Sure, she had millions of questions and doubts, but it was clear what happened. She had gone deranged. She must have hit her head on the faucet in the bathtub. Somewhere in her own thoughts she had created this alternate world and this was all a dream. This was the only logical explanation Nadia could think of. She was living her worst nightmare.

____________________________________________________________________________________________

Nadia ran back to the hotel she was staying at. By now tears were streaming down her face. This alternate dream-world was too much to take in. It must be dream. It has to be. She clearly remembered her old life; there was no way that life was the dream. There was no way the murderous person she was in this world was who she truly was.

She remembered her theory of a time warp. It was a possibility. After all it was more believable than being in a dream this whole time. The girls, the tobacco spitting man, her mother that called her Aidan: they were all so real. She had felt the sun's rays on her face. She had smelled the garbage the girls were sitting in. This couldn't be a dream. Shouldn't you not feel or smell anything in a dream? Nadia had no idea. After all she was just a fourteen year old girl lost in an alternate world.

Suddenly Nadia had a breakthrough moment. She felt like one of the characters in cartoons where the light bulb appears over their head and the music gets louder. She was in an alternate world. Better yet, she was in an alternate universe. She was trapped in the world of somebody else. She wondered who she could be living as. Then she remembered what happened back at the hotel with her 1960's mother. Aidan. That's who she was taking the place of. She was in Aidan's world. This horrible, wretched world wasn't home. The murder and shady characters weren't a part of her life. She felt foolish for believing at one point that this 1960's life belonged to her. This was all Aidan.

Nadia felt smart for figuring this mystery out. People would somehow figure out how to go home. Then it sunk in. People thought she was Aidan. To the rest of the world she was the murderous, evil girl who lived in this world. What if somebody tried to come after her? What if something happened and she had to take the blame as Aidan?

Then, Nadia thought of something even worse. If she was stuck in 1960, where was Aidan? Was Aidan stuck in 2010 ruining Nadia's life? Chills ran over her body. Would she ever get back home to 2010 before it would be too late?
