Just a few days ago, I sat outside reading my book I had picked up from the library the day before. The warm air wrapped around me as the trees' leaves began to dance in the gentle breeze that was sauntering all around. I removed my eager eyes from the page of my book and stared out into the distance. I just began to stare and stare and stare. As I was staring, I saw so many things. Wispy willow trees, blooming flowers and even just patches of grass that had recently received their first touch of spring. Children were riding bikes, their parents close by. Birds were singing the joyous songs they sing as a few butterflies flew around in what I call nature. Nature is the world around us.
Most days, I never think to stop and admire our world. It's just filled with the beautiful sight of nature. Without it, we wouldn't even be here on this Earth. Animals are giving birth to just the cutest little animals ever this season! Yet, I never even stop to think about it. Nature is our life, it provides life for us, it's home to me, home to you. Nature is our home.
Have you ever stopped to look at a stream or even maybe a little creek in your backyard? The shimmering waters are home to so many fascinating sea creatures. I am just amazed by how many animals live down there. All the creatures are unique and special to our Earth. If I ever had the chance to swim down all the way to the bottom of the ocean, tears of joy would probably run down my cheeks in amazement of what's truly down there and how miraculous it is. It's just amazing how much life is down there and it reveals so many secrets about our Earth and of course, nature.
Plants are always a huge part of nature. Before, I even thought trees were the most important part of our nature in the world. But that day, I discovered that all of nature is as important as the other parts. Not one animal is better than a tree and not one tree is better than a flower. We need all of nature, we can't depend on just one part of nature. We need it all. Which means, we need to learn how to take care of nature, support it and not damage it.
But, we all need to remember that nature is alive, it's real, it's not perfect. It's born, it lives, it dies. And sometimes it is even killed. Destroyed. It's a problem for people who care about nature like me. Nature is just as good as a human. Yet it's still being destroyed. It seems as if people just don't realize that fact. Since nature is our responsibility, we need to learn to take care of it because nature has provided life for us for thousands of years. I'm going to take care of nature. It's a fact, it's our world. It's not just part of our world, it is our world and our world is what it is. It's life.
Please, I can't ask you enough, help me protect our world. We only have one chance, let's make the best of it. Will you join me?
Yours Truly,
Kerry
