A rainy night, not one taken to waste
The rhythmic falling brings back memories
I set on my mind with a second's haste
Our crashed love gone by, I miss the hopeful dreams

And I like how it rains like me
The sky opens with tears full of salty frustration
Sobs of thunder, rolling stronger with the passing night
And I like how it rains like me
Steady patience within, refusal to fight

I'll open my window at 3am and wait
The cold drops will soothe my heart with ease
Such comfort I've found in the most destructive place
It waters my mind, as the roots of the trees

And I like how it rains like me
A touch of peace in the constant tears
Chilled winds, carry my mind to a distant place
And I like how it rains like me
Sorrow in my eyes, drops on my face

And I really like how it rains like love
The atmosphere, empathetic from the start
She gives me a peace and a place to think
While all he gives me is a broken heart
