The bitter air wrapped Jaime's arms as she silently sobbed over the body beneath her feet and the pretty face on the tombstone. The past month had been the worst experience she had ever faced, and now instead of a "better tomorrow", the nightmare seemed to continue.
"Jamie, it's best that we go now. The ceremony ended an hour ago." Jaime's mother said quietly.
Jaime wiped her tears. "Ok, just let me say goodbye one more time."

3 Weeks Before
Jaime folded the last of sophomore year's clothes, and grabbed her car keys off the vanity. The sun was at it's highest peak, although it wasn't "summer'" weather anymore and school started tomorrow, the sun let off a steamy humid power that enveloped Jaime's now red face.
She was off to the mall with her two best friends to shop for their annual back to school shopping spree. It was the only reason why Jaime looked forward to the first day of school. New clothes, new attitude, new everything. Jaime couldn't wait.
"Hey, hey!" Vanessa greeted as she made her way up the driveway. "Ready?" she asked. "Yeah, we're waiting for Kris" Jaime replied.
Vanessa opened Jaime's red buggie, a car in which was paid in communion, confirmation, graduation, and good grade money Jaime earned throughout the years. Skipping up the driveway was Kris, smiling her pretty smile as always.
"Why are we standing here?" she asked, "There's a mall out there." Vanessa and Jaime giggled. "Shot gun" Vanessa called.
"Aw, come on V, you had it last time. Tell her Jam!" Kris whined. Jaime smiled. She loved her best friends, who were together since grade school, bickered the whole way, laughed and shared tons of memories through out the years.
"Vanessa, just let her-" "Fine." Vanessa cut her off.
Jaime pulled the car out of the driveway and made her way on to the busy Pennsylvania street.
Kris turned on the radio, "Nothin' on You" was playing. She moved the switch up, until the song enveloped the entire car. Vanessa laughed and opened every window and began to sing along.
Soon, the car was filled with three girls, laughing, singing and taking in life. When a quite large flash, hit Jamie's eyes.
