One night I decided to go on Youtube. I soon found myself watching a video of a man talking about where his kids will be in 10 years. This got me thinking, 'Where will I be in 10 years?' Hopefully I'll find myself in college, pursuing my dreams and starting a career.
In 1 week from the day I'm writing this, I'll be 13 -- meaning in 10 years I'll be 22, almost 23. Now is the time I have to decide how I want my future to be. If I want to get a job that doesn't involve flipping greasy hamburger patties, I need to try my best and do well in school. There's a world of possibilities out there for me and you too.
This made me think about how fast time is flying. 10 years isn't a long time but in those few years my life will have changed. I won't be a middle school girl. I'll find myself in higher education. I won't be begging my parents for car rides everywhere. I'll be hitting the road behind the wheel, driving myself everywhere. Sadly there's another possibility, if I don't give schooling my all now, I could find myself struggling to get a job without higher education. I could find myself without a driver's license and taking the bus everywhere I go. School may seem stupid now but in the long run it will help you make your life what you want it to be.
In 10 years I won't be able to depend on my parents for everything. I'll need to be a mature adult who can fend for herself. Thinking about the future is scary but it's also exciting. Think about it, in 10 years you could find yourself a doctor, helping to save lives or an actress on the TV screen. Time goes by fast, that's why I'm trying my best to make the best of every day I have as a kid or teenager.
I have one question for you: Where do you hope to be in 10 years? Answer on the BBS but please be respectful of other Whyvillians' answers.
