Are you an artist, journalist, or just have a great idea? Very often, creativity can be squashed because an idea cannot be realized. A lot of the time, this is due to a lack of funding. Your vision cannot be fulfilled because there's just no way you can pay for it. Well that's where AOL Artists comes in.
For its 25th Anniversary, AOL launched the Project on Creativity. The AOL Grant Program known as 25 for 25 is a part of that program. They will be awarding 25 grants worth up to $25,000 to inspiring artists, journalists and creative innovators who have amazing ideas. The program was inspired by Chuck Close's work with arts education. They want to enable the next generation of creative minds to inspired and help their communities.
The program is accepting applications through September 1, 2010 on their website, http://www.aolartists.com/25for25/. Please note, you must be 18 or older to apply. To submit an application you must provide them with some contact information and then a summary of your idea.
Everyone who has even written for or read the Times has a creative idea to share. So get out there, and see what you can do! Put your creative energy to good use and make a difference in your community.
Signing off,
AMae
