A very special part of the town we love is being destroyed: the Reef. We need all the help we can get to save it. That's why I'm here. I want to encourage everyone reading this to chip in to save the beloved reef. You may be asking, "How am I supposed to help." I'm about to explain that. Here are some ways you can save the reef:
1. Reef Management Plan: Doing this will help everyone know how to take action. First we need to identify the problem. To do so you will be asked 2 questions about the reef. Then on the 25th of August, Whyville can total the votes and take action. Playing the Reef Simulator game and using Collaborative Graphs will help you answer these questions. This is an easy way to start helping the reef.
2. Making and Wearing face parts: Are you a designer? You can help save the reef. Just make a face part supporting the reef. It can be anything you can think of. Not a designer? You can help too, buy and wear Reef Supporting Parts. Here are a few parts I like that you could purchase:
Title: Save the Fishies
Designer: Nananadia
Price: 10 clams
Title: Save the Reef Jellyfish Hat
Designer: googles
Price: 30 clams
Title: Save the Reef Sign
Designer: City Hall
Price: 10 clams
Tip: When Looking for Reef face parts, look under Akbar's Favorites (at the face mall) and click "Save the Reef Boutique."
3. Donate Clams: A simple, yet effective way to save the reef is to donate clams. Not only will donating clams help the reef but if you donate enough you'll get spiffy pins to put on your avatar:
100 clams - Red Spotted Coral Crab Pin
500 clams - Clown Trigger Fish Pin
1000 clams - White-Tip Reef Shark Pin
But you're not limited to those amounts, donate as many clams as you want. Even donating less than 100 clams is acceptable and will help. Donate what you can. Clam donations support the Reef Management Plans.
4. Write for the Times: Be like me! Write an article for the Whyville Times supporting the Reef. Make your opinion on the reef heard.
5. Tell People: Tell your friends, enemies, anyone you can find to save the reef. Tell them to do whatever they can to help this precious place.
The Reef is home to many water animals and plants. It's slowly being destroyed. Over time there will be no reef left, unless we save it, and we can save it. Do your part now, take action.
