Author's Note: This article is instructing you on how to create power points with the program of Power Point 2003. Version 2007 still works, and so does 1999 but they might not have some of the features mentioned. If you don't have one of these programs don't worry; you can still create these fun projects with other familiar programs.
School is starting soon, and for many classes you need to create Power Point Presentations. They are often difficult to create but with a small idea of what is possible your imagination can create something amazing.
The key to creating a one-of-a-kind power point is how colorful, exciting, and interesting one is. For example, a plain white background with times new roman size 12 font is really boring. To create a power point that is sure to be a success you should follow these simple steps.
First, you should create a power point layout, preferably a blank one. (They give you the most freedom to be creative.) Then, you need to click on insert>textbox. You can create any size text box, so "messing" this step up is practically impossible. After writing your text, roll over it and double click the highlighted area. Choose the desired font, then change the color, size, style, and whether you want it to be italic, bold, or underlined.
After you have the perfect looking text, you need to add in clip art or pictures off the Internet. If you are using the Internet, choose your wording carefully, because a whole bunch of non-related pictures could come up. With using Google images right click on a picture, choose copy image, (or copy,) and then right click on your power point slide and choose paste. If you are using clip art however, unnecessary pictures won't be a problem. After choosing a fun picture(s), you are ready for the next step.
A very useful tool in power point making is word art. To get to word art, you should go to insert>picture>word art. There will be many different designs in solid colors. If you like a design, but you don't like the color, you can easily fix that problem. Choose a design you like, write your text, and then click on the little paint can and paint brush. This tool allows you to change the color of the text, create a line, and change the color of a line within your word art. With fancy word art, you are probably getting a decent looking power point so far!
Next you can allow your text box text, word art, and pictures to move around by double clicking on a picture or highlighting a text. Right-click on it and choose insert>custom animation. This awesome modifier let's you make your text or picture arrive in your power point any way possible.
After this, you can select an amazing sound to follow your text, word art, or picture. You can do this by selecting insert>movie or sound clip>sound clip from gallery. If you have music in your computer files, you can click movie or sound clip from file. That will bring up a document searching window where you can locate your music.
Lastly, you need to choose a background for your power point. You can mix two colors into a unique blend, select a patterned background, or even choose a textured look. I suggest using a blended background though, because the patterned and textured looks don't give you much variety.
Fancy text, colorful word art, neat pictures, crazy movements, cool sound clips, and interesting backgrounds are the ways I would create a perfect PowerPoint. I challenge you to create an amazing Power Point if you can sometime this year for a project. It might surprise you how fun something can be if you know some basics on how to make it unique.
