As most of you know, Thanksgiving is right around the corner! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of the year. We get to see some of the family we love most, along with eating up all the delicious foods people bring.
My favorite part about Thanksgiving is being able to laugh and have fun with all of my family. Every year when Thanksgiving comes around, my family has a tradition that is common in most families. We all sit around the table right before we get to feast, and we all say one or two things that we are the most thankful for. Every year when it comes to be my turn I always say something like, "The house I'm able to live in," or, "My friends who love me."
This year I'm really going to think what I am most thankful for! I have asked a couple people on Whyville a few questions about Thanksgiving and I am glad to share their thoughts on Thanksgiving!
Rain15133: What are you most thankful for?
lynne: Michael Jackson and poetry . . . in all seriousness.
Cakeltame: My beautiful wife.
Ducky464: I am thankful for time. Without it, we would never have anything that we have now. We wouldn't even know of the strong beautiful relationships we currently have with family and friends, for time is what makes relationships grow. Time may be feared by some, but it is a blessing to all.
eViLPiGs3: I'm most thankful for my supportive family and friends.
alygirl09: I'm most thankful for actually being able to have a family. I feel so bad for orphans.
natnat10: For having amazing friends who love me for who I am.
Rain15133: What is your favorite thing about Thanksgiving?
lynne: Everyone else goes to sleep early.
Cakeltame: Eating lots of good food with my family!
Ducky464: The food of course! Plus, it is a holiday that unites the entire family to eat traditionally around a table. My family is usually busy, so we are always eating at different times and in different rooms . . . it is nice to have some time to sit and eat together.
eViLPiGs3: I have a lot of favorite things about Thanksgiving but a few are the food, seeing relatives that I only see once or twice a year and having a week off from school!
alygirl09: The freaking turkey!
natnat10: The food!!
Rain15133: What is your favorite food/dish to eat?
lynne: Turkey. I like turkey.
Cakeltame: Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and corn smothered in gravy, with a crispy dinner.
Ducky464: I love deviled eggs! I also love my grandma's homemade noodles.
eViLPiGs3: Hmmm . . . that's though to decide. I think my favorite is pumpkin pie with lots of whipped creme.
alygirl09: Turkey
natnat10: This is a hard one. But, either the turkey or Nana's mashed potatoes!
Rain15133: What do you do for Thanksgiving?
lynee: My family stays at home and . . . eats. A lot. But recently my pop's side of the family has been showing up . . . I hope they don't this year.
Cakeltame: This year I am going to visit my sister in Georgia and spend the weekend with her family.
Ducky464: I usually go to my grandma's house. We normally eat, and then all watch TV or a movie together afterward.
eViLPiGs3: For Thanksgiving, my mom and I go to my aunt and uncle's house for a huge family get-together and just visit with the family and eat.
alygirl09: Have a feast at one of our relative's houses.
natnat10: I tell all my friends why they are special to me, and go to my grandparents' house.
Rain15133: Who are your favorite people to communicate with on Thanksgiving?
lynne: My siblings, I really hate eating in front of my parents, let alone speaking to them after eating in front of them.
Cakeltame: My family who I don't get to see as often as I would like too.
Ducky464: Family, hands down.
eViLPiGs3: I used to love talking with my grandma but unfortunately she passed away in February 2009. But I enjoy talking to my uncles, they're really funny and entertaining.
alygirl09: Family and friends.
natnat10: My loving friends and family!
And that's what the people have to say. I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!
