The Middle East

Hey Ho Hey Ho! It's off to school we go! My holidays are almost done! I almost want to cry, or maybe I want to laugh hysterically like Julia Roberts getting her 2001 Oscar. I am crazy. But today I wanted to talk to you about something a little more realistic. The Middle East.

You probably know about the huge war going on out there. Does anyone know when it will stop? How many of those people deserve to die? Now, before you answer that question, I want you to think a little bit.

If every human being got what he or she deserved, a lot of us wouldn't be the way we are. Would you have your house or your computer or your friends? Don't say that some of them are bad people so they deserve to die, because there are bad people in North America that aren't killed.

I think that we have been very stereotypical lately. We are thinking that all the people in a certain area, or a certain religious group are bad. Is that the way it really is? Am I a bad person because I have the same beliefs as someone truly horrible? Maybe I want peace.

What if you had to be in that war? What if you were there and you saw all the sights? What if the last thing you heard each night was war and when you woke up, all you could hear is war? If you are reading this, you are very lucky because you probably won??t have to live through something like that. Sure you can see it on T.V. and think about it, but how much worse is it in real life?

The people in that war right now, the ones who die each day, aren't they human? Do you think that they deserve this? For being who they are and living their lives? I don't think it's right for us to assume that all of these people are bad and that they deserve this.

I bet you, that if we opened our eyes, and thought about it long enough, we could find a way to solve this with something other then war. What good is it really doing? Consider your answer carefully.

I can remember sitting with my dad who was reading the paper on a Saturday morning, and him saying, "Boy, things are getting pretty bad down there." Are we just going to kill every one? What does that solve? When we kill off their entire society, what will we have accomplished?

We are really ignoring that all of these people are human, and I think that if we considered that, we might change our approach, and ultimately our solution. I hope that at least a few people realise what I am saying, because I think that it is important that this side also be shown in war.

I have to go help my mom now, so this is Giggler01 wondering, what if we don't need war to have peace?
