I hopes this gets published... LoL. Well, I'm writing this because recently I was fined for saying a bad word.

When I got the 'report decision' in my mail, the first thing that went threw my head was, "What??? I don't remember saying anything bad today!" So I opened up the part that tells you what you said and it was a somewhat of a bad word. Well, after some thought I realized that I had said it but it was actually part of a sentence that I had said that ran together without breaks, and thus unintentionally spelled out (or should I say rather hinted at) a bad word.

Well, I know that the censors are there to pick up bad words, but once in a while they pick up letters that run together that make up a bad word that the person didn't mean to say at all. I don't know what to say about this or even if anything could be done about it, but it is kinda frustrating. I'd rather get fined for something I was truly guilty of then not.

It's a good thing I wasn't taped for days, just fined over a hundred clams.

So this is all I have to say. Thanks, this is Junior signing off...

Note from City Hall: My apologies for any mix-up that may have happened. I wish I could hire enough people to go back and double check on any errors we may have made in the past! All I can afford to do, though, is fix things for the future. I'll tell our censors to be more diligent. And I know they thank you for being as patient with them as you are in your article -- we're all human, after all!

Heya Whyvillians, Zoey100 here, back again with more amazing Whyville info! Just today I found a gazillion things on Whyville! Like in Times past they talked about dudes in science that changed our world. Like Galileo. Also, this GeoDig thing really teaches you a lot about rocks! Recently my science class had to learn about rocks. Now if only the GeoDig had come out a few weeks before, maybe I would have passed my rocks test! LoL.

And earlier this year, my science class had to do research on a scientist, and in the Times archives there are many articles about many of them! If only I'd realized!

I know that I'm gonna tell my science teacher about Whyville and all of this stuff that can also help us and have fun at the same time! Maybe I'll get extra credit...? LoL! Anyway, I want all of you to check all of that stuff out! It's actually really cool! :)

Note from City Hall: I can't tell you how excited that makes me to hear you'll be telling your teacher about Whyville! If she has any questions about our town, or about how she can use Whyville in the classroom, tell her to feel free to email us at city-management\@whyville.net! Someday we hope to give awards to kids who introduce their teachers to Whyville... :)

Here is an article for the Times!

Hi! Most Whyvillians are American or Canadian, right? Yes, it's true, but there are people from all over the world on Whyville! I myself am English and proud! But there is one thing that limits what I do on Whyville. That's time.

I think I am right in saying that Why-time is American time, yes? This causes difficulties for all non-Americans (I don't know about Canadians, it might only be a one hour difference for them!). It's hard for us because we can't meet people we don't know very well -- they say it in Why-time. I cannot go to the disco parties most of the time because they're held in Why-time. I can't get a plot because I don't know when 9:30 Why-time is. Is that during my AM or PM?

I know this is a little thing to be annoyed about, but it matters to me. My suggestion is that you could make a button on the Why-clock and it would have the times of the world on there. This could be turned into an educational addition as well. You could learn all about time and why it's different in different countries. You could learn about longitude and latitude, you could make it into a game to find out the time in two different places, calculate the time difference and find out about that country's customs! I hope this will happen!

This is froggy66, guest writer, and hoping to be more, signing off!

Note from City Hall: England's a great country! Welcome to Whyville!!

To help you with your time concerns, look at the Whyville clock and compare it to your clock at home. How many hours different is it? That difference will remain constant -- if Whyville time is six hours after your time, it'll always be that way. But I suspect you already knew that.

That's a great suggestion about adding the clocks of the world to the Why-clock! I'll have the team put that on our list... unfortunately, it's a huge list, so I can't tell you when we'll do it, but it'll happen someday!

About a week ago, City Hall gave out a little Thank You note and a nice little medal for being faithful to Whyville for a LONG time. Pretty great, huh? Putting that medal on and going around saying, "Look what City Hall gave me!" made you feel really good didn't it? Great! It should have. Don't you feel proud?

Newbies didn't get medals or a thank you note... yes, they were left out of that. But City Hall didn't just decide, "Let's make Newbies feel out of place." She decided to say thanks because, yes, Oldies deserve a thank you. And I think City Hall deserves a thank you also. Oldies were Newbies once, too. They could have felt left out at times also. But those individuals who stuck around for so long never complained about not being thanked or anything. The medals were a surprise for them. And maybe in three years, the Newbies now will get medals then, and they will be proud.

Let us not be negative,
Dumblonde

Note from City Hall: Thank you, Dumblonde. You hit the bull's-eye there! Just like your salary, or your fellow citizens' respect, those medals are earned, through dedication to Whyville. We hope to make them a regular act of celebration, part of Whyville's birthday bash every March. I look forward to seeing you ALL then!

Yo people,

I just want to comment on an article that appeared in a past issue of the Whyville Times. It was written by Skumbag68 and it was about how easy it is to hack people or steal information.

The reason the Editor published it in the Times was to show the Whyville community how someone could do this to someone, and raise everyone's awareness.

A counter-article by Spedy9 was put in the Times last week. She was appalled at the fact that the editor put Skumbag68's article in and criticized the Editor for doing it. All he was trying to accomplish was getting the point across that it is easy for someone to hack you if you fall into their stories.

So don't say things about the editor for publishing this. Whyville is just trying to make its citizens aware.

Peace out,
CoolJay74

Editor's Note: Thanks for your letter of support, CoolJay74! I also want to thank Spedy9 for letting us know what he felt about Skumbag. I hope that he understands now that, just as CoolJay said here, we published "The Perfect Krime" in order to let everyone know what sort of danger they were in when giving out their passwords.

I am so mad at myself for doing something that I shouldn't have done!!! GRR!!!

My problem is about what I wrote in one of my petitions! I wrote that I hated the Why-Pass, but deep down in myself I really don't. LoL! If you don't get what I really mean, well, I'll tell you. I mean that I should have never have done such a CRUEL thing. I did it because I hated Why-Passes BEFORE!!! I started to feel bad when I read City Hall's "History of the Whypass". She said that if they didn't have the Why-Passes then they would have to shut Whyville down!!! We do NOT want this to happen to Whyville ever in our lives!!!

So if you understand, please do not think so cruelly, and listen to City Hall. I really am SO SORRY, City Hall!!! Please understand my mistake.

This was short! Thanx for listening!!!

-Lilstar55

Note from City Hall: Hi Lilstar55. Yes, I completely understand. Not having all the information in front of you, Why-Passes sure can look like a total scam! Didn't somebody once say, "Knowledge is power"? Well, now that you have more knowledge about Why-Passes, you have more power. I hope you use it for good, whatever you believe that means. :)
