Author's Note: All the shampoo or conditioner bottles shown are at your local drug store or supermarket.

There are many hair types out there, and even more hair products. It can be overwhelming choosing a shampoo or conditioner if you do not know what type of hair or what your hair needs to look its full potential. Using my Mom's overly-large amount of hair products, I put together a guide that is sure to help you pick out your perfect shampoo/conditioner in no time!

FOR LONG HAIR

Long hair is generally defined by being past your shoulders. It can be straight, wavy or curly, but for the hair product I am about to show, I would suggest having your hair be on the straighter side.

FOR SHORT HAIR

Short hair is generally anything that touches your shoulders or is cut above them. In order to get beautiful, voluminous hair, you should get a shampoo/conditioner that specializes in creating a chic, short hairstyle.

FOR WAVY HAIR

If you have wavy hair, I would suggest using a shampoo that helps make the waves sleek and shiny. While some people cake on hair gel or hairspray in order to tame their waves, the shampoo I am about to show helps tame your waves while making them silky-smooth.

FOR COLORED (DYED) HAIR

Color treated hair can often be difficult to find shampoo for. While some shampoos cause the hair to get discolored or dulled, some out there specialize in making the color you chose stay the way it was on day one!

FOR CURLY HAIR

Most people who sport curly locks like to make sure their curls aren't a frizzy, tangled mess. This problem can be solved with the right hair products. For a great shampoo/conditioner that creates flawless curls, I suggest using this one.

FOR DRY HAIR

If you use heat to style your hair (straightening, curling, crimping, etc.), your hair is dryer than it is supposed to be. I would suggest using a hair product that helps restore the perfect amount of moisture healthy hair should have.

FOR FRIZZY HAIR

Though we all wish it would just go away, most hair has frizz. Whether it is very visible or only really bothers you, frizz can be the most irritating hair problem ever! To reduce and even remove frizz, use a hair product that you apply from the roots down.

FOR THICK HAIR

Thick hair is generally hair that has a lot to it! Whether it is layered thickness or all one length, thick hair can be gorgeous, or annoying. I suggest using a hair product similar to this one.

Hopefully from the following pictures and descriptions you have found what hair type best fits your locks. All of the hair products shown above are six dollars or less at stores like CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart. Whether you go out and buy your own hair products yourself, or ask your mom or other guardian to pick it up for you, purchasing a hair product that is best for your hair is the way to go for a supermodel look in no time!
