You said you were prepared for anything,
Were you really?
Can you keep going with that mountain in your way,
That rocky path that lies before you?
Maybe you have no choice, but you must keep going,
And you have to understand what you mean to me,
You must cross the terrain ahead of you.
Nothing will stop you with that hope is inside,
The fire burning with light and faith.
It will be your flashlight in the darkest of nights,
That will carry you through your pain.
Don't lose your light and let it die out,
True, all good things come to an end,
But your life isn't going to yet.
Believe in yourself,
You'll be protected through these times,
You'll get better, and better soon,
You just can't lose your light.
Author's Note: This poem was inspired by my ill relative, who I love very dearly. Please wish her the best.
