Whyville Storyteller

It was a regular day in the city of Whyville. Many, many citizens were trying to get in and go shopping, visit their homes, talk to their families and all the usual Whyville things. But as usual, there were the others that could not make it into the great city. As usual, the blue waiting room was filled with the usual sort of people such as those not willing to give up the money for their city or those willing, yet not able.

Over a cup of tea in the waiting room lounge, the young Dr. Simmons chatted with a few friends.

"But in my opinion there are only two people in Whyville...." The Doctor was suddenly interrupted by Jules: "Sir, it seems that there may be room to get in."

"Ahhh, its my turn, I say!" Dr. Simmons got up and began to fight his way to the open door. But by the time he got there, the bouncer was locking up the gates again.

Doctor Simmons was outraged. "I say, my good sir, I was here for a good two hours before SHE came in!"

The bouncer just stood at the door, staring at the Doctor. His menacing eyes looked down upon the smaller man.

"All right," he spoke, slow and drawling, "if you can answer this riddle then you may pass through, for a change."

The good doctor, liking riddles, agreed.

"But," said the bouncer, "if you get it wrong, then I'll never let you in Whyville again! Muahahhahah!!!"

The overconfident doctor just rushed to the point. "All right, I get the rules, now begin!"

"It is as precious as gold, but holds an evilness in it. It is the envy of all, but some are broke because of it! What is it?"

The doctor froze -- and could not get in Whyville ever again, for he didn't know the answer. Do you? Whymail me the answer.

And tune in next time for the next episode of THE WAITING ROOM MYSTERIES!!!
