So today, as I do everyday, I logged onto Whyville and went straight to the BBS. *confused look* "What's the BBS?" Well, Whyvillians, the BBS is Whyville's forums. Not many of you have seen the BBS, or have really thought about using it. I decided to introduce you. BBSers meet Times readers, Times readers, meet BBSers.
For my first few years on Whyville, I was a chatter, but I always read the Times. I always commented in the Times' BBS, giving tips to writers, telling them whether I liked their articles, and discussing the topics of their articles. One day, as I was telling someone how much I loved their articles, I noticed a button called "BBS Home" at the top. I thought that was odd, because as far as I knew, the BBS was only for Times articles. I clicked it, and was open to a whole new part of Whyville.
BBS stands for Bulletin Board System. The BBS, similar to chat, allows you to meet people from around the world. The BBS is forums, that have several sections. Need help with math homework? Want to give some suggestions to City Workers or ask them questions whenever you want? Want to discuss your favorite movie with 30 people from around North America? What about wanting to meet tons of new friends? Well, if you answered "Yes" to any of those questions, the BBS is the place for you!
I would just like to be the first to welcome you! I am writing this article just to make people aware of my favorite place on Whyville.
Off to BBS!
