I've been a BBSer for a while now. A BBSer is someone who frequently uses the forums, a.k.a. BBS. There are some BBSers who have been there for years! The forums is basically just a place to communicate, only it's not in a bubble that pops off after fifteen seconds. And if you would like to ask a question, you can go to Ask the City Workers General, and look for a thread with a question like yours. If you can't find one, you can make an entire new thread and not only will the City Workers help you, but some BBSers will try too!
I asked anyone who considers themselves a BBSer to y-mail me so I could ask them a question (I did that through BBS). I only chose to ask one question because there are so many opinionated BBSers!
Jillith: Would you recommend the BBS to someone who has never heard of it? Explain.
LunaLolli: It depends. Certain areas of the BBS are fun and innocent, but other parts are offending and rude. Some hurtful things are definitely said. I'll openly admit it - I've cried before reading things that people said about me. If you're looking for a place to go when you need to kill time, I wouldn't recommend it. Stick to South Beach.
Doodle971: Yes, I would defiantly explain the BBS to someone who hasn't heard of it. I don't think that the majority of Whyville has even heard of the BBS. The other night I was having trouble with my homework. I went on here and was able to find an answer from another Whyvillian after posting it in the School section. The BBS isn't all for asking questions either. It's supposed to be a fun place. There I can chat with City Workers, talk to others, and make friends. I would have never known who some people are if it wasn't for the BBS. I barely even go in chat anymore, the BBS supplies me with answers to my needs!
Pinkboot8: Probably yes, I find the BBS fun, informative, and an amazing boredom reliever at times. So why not share?! If I can find so much fun in it then I would like my friends and family to do so also. And to anybody who does not like the BBS, FEEL MY COOKIE WRATH!
xSugarr33: Well, I guess it depends on the type of person. If it's someone who can't type well or Typpzz Lykk Diss !, then probably not. But if her typing -- or her personality -- doesn't annoy the crap out of me, probably.
AlexisPee: Yes, I would, because the BBS is a place where you can post your opinion on things, events, or ideas. It is also a great way to make friends. I have made friends with lots of people on the BBS. You can also ask questions and answer them. If you answer correctly, you get a gold star. You can post your opinion on events or ideas, too.
sk8terb67: I would, because then BBS would get more people, and become more popular. But on the side that it gets to much drama, I wouldn't. I don't think some person would like drama, and would most likely leave right away.
Xion2: YES! It is a fun and exciting part of Whyville; my favorite. You can meet new people, discuss ideas, and do a lot more.
Gleeky: Yes!!
co12bo: In fact I would. the BBS has had a great community of users over the years and many topic to discuss such as the the news, science and books. There are even forum games and great role-plays. It is just such a superfantastical place anyone will love it! For me it is actually my favorite part of Whyville!
CxiiLlama: I would. I've actually explained it in grave detail to my best friend. I just told her the basics, like all my friends, and the people I disliked . . . and how I used to be a roleplayer.
holliabe1: Yes, because it is a great way to interact with other people and share your thoughts. You will also meet people that have similar interests as you.
AliceBoo: I'd recommend BBS to anyone because it gives you all the news that is happening in the world.
conan34: YES, I would recommend the BBS to people! Who wouldn't!? I would recommend it to people because it's a good place to see what people are selling, when and where BCs are, play games, and talk about current events. Ninety percent of time I am on Whyville, I'm on the BBS.
And that's just a short list of the BBSers. (I told you they were opinionated) There are a whole lot more, but you'll never know who unless you visit the BBS yourself! I think the BBS is really fun, but I warn you, a lot of the BBSers would rather see you typing with proper grammar and spelling than chatspeak (blech!).
Go to the BBS and I guarantee you'll find over 578,000 BBS posts to choose from. To go there, you can either click the clipboard in Dr. Leila's, or use the red tack at the top of your screen.
You can see who is online at the bottom of the BBS screen, too. I hope I see you there soon (It's obvious we all want you there)!
