Well, it's over! The senate race has ended! I would like to congratulate our three future senators, Kittieme, ICouture, and Joker63. It was a great election. Great job to all of the candidates.
I was able to talk to two of the new senators, Kittieme and ICouture, today about their victory.
Xion2: How did you feel when you first found out you had won?
ICouture: Really felt elated and euphoric! I was in my kitchen eating a banana and checking my laptop when I saw the announcement, I started jumping up and down! I almost choked on a chunk of banana! I was totally thrilled that Whyvillians thought that I would make a good senator and trusted me with their votes!
Kittieme: I felt really good inside. It always feels good to accomplish something you've worked hard on, so I just was happy.
Xion2: If you could accomplish one thing as Senator, what would it be?
ICouture: There is so much I hope to accomplish as a team with Marissa and Travis, but the issue that is closest to my heart personally is designing and the thing I would most like to do is recruit sponsors to donate money specifically earmarked for the improvement of the design tools as well as other art games and creative resources for the use of the designers as well as all of the other citizens of Whyville.
Kittieme: I really want to make a face part library system. I think this idea has a lot of potential to become the next Style Studio.
Xion2: Do you think you will be able to work well with the other senators?
ICouture: I have no doubt that we will be able to work well together and form a strong united team. Marissa and Travis both want to see real improvements in Whyville too . . . hopefully the CW's will give us real opportunities to make positive things happen!
Kittieme: I think I'll be able to work great with the other senators. Trav is nice and easy going and Zoey is a sweetheart.
Xion2: Do you think you will be able to work well with the City Workers?
ICouture: I look forward to working with the City Workers and doing whatever is asked of me for the betterment of Whyville!
Kittieme: I think I will work alright with the City Workers. I don't have that much experience talking with them, but I'm sure they aren't super scary to talk to.
Xion2: Do you have any meetings with the CW's or anything planned?
ICouture: So far the only thing we have planned as of now is our inauguration which we are still trying to lock down a good day that works for everyone's schedules. I am sure we will have a few meetings after that to plan our goals for the year.
Kittime: Well, we are in the process of first, setting up our inauguration meeting. After that, we'll set up meetings to try to accomplish things with the City Workers.
Xion2: Is there anything else you want to say?
ICouture: I would just like to thank everyone who voted for me and had faith in me, and everyone who supported me during the race and urged me to keep pushing on! Thank you all! I promise to work hard all year long to try to bring real change and betterment to Whyville, and to always listen when someone needs to have their voice heard. Thanks so much!
Kittieme: Well, just thanks to the voters or anyone who supported me in the slightest. I really appreciate you guys giving me this opportunity to try to help Whyville even in a slight way.
Thanks Senators! Congratulations and good luck! I think it will be very exciting to see what you guys can do for Whyville, and it has been great watching this race. I have to say, I am personally pleased with the results of the race.
