Yum! Strawberries and ice cream! Thank goodness spring is finally here. I
need some fresh fruit. Well, I'm here to tell you about how science and
Whyville go together really well. K, well, that didn't sound right, but once
you read on, I think you'll understand what I mean.
Two years ago, my class learned about rocks. It was so incredibly
boring. I mean, oh wow, it's a rock! Also, I learn my science in French, so
none of it makes any sense because the vocabulary is so advanced. So, you
can tell that I'm not a major fan of rocks. By some miracle (and a couple
hours of intense studying!) I did manage to pass my final test with a decent
grade.
So, for the last two and a half years I have gone around thinking that rocks
are pretty boring things. Welcome to Whyville, me! When Whyville introduced
the Geodig Safari, I wasn't exactly rushing to sign up. But, since it would
help my salary, I decided to give it a try.
Well, I am officially hooked! Rocks aren't as boring as I used to think they
were! I am actually beginning to think that rocks can actually be
interesting, although I'm not quite there yet. I actually understand what we're doing with the GeoDig, and I am meeting lots of new people at the dig sites!
So, now I know what Whyville means when they say that they want to make
education fun! It really can be!
That's about all. I just thought that
some people need to hear about stuff like that, especially new citizens.
This is Giggler01, and a lot of people have asked me how I write such good
articles and how they can write like that -- I do believe it was Sholem
Asch who said, "Writing comes more easily if you have something to say." I
just never shut up, so that might explain it.
I'm out.
