Everything hurts when you ask me why
And you never understand the reasons I cry
So many times I've tried and tried
But no one cares about my pride
If I ever asked a favor from you
And a wish on a star, would they ever come true?
If I begged and begged and finally quit
Would you send me back home, would you even care a bit
Can I ever understand the true meaning of friend
If I can, a helping hand would be interesting
Life is full of nothing but chances to take
Every corner you turn your life stands at stake
Family will help you, but life is hard for Pete's sake!
Can you hear me out when I say that you're such a stomach ache
Take a seat, and listen close
Do not take another dose
You won't be sorry, this is clear
'Cause life is precious and life is dear
Take a seat, push up your sleeves
Can I take a look?
Has this helped you get through life?
No, it makes you off the hook
Have I not explained the truth to you?
That life is truly hard
And if you're pressured and still get through
I'm as proud as you are scarred
Authors' Note: Yes, that apostrophe is AFTER the s! We (six friends) wrote this poem together. Each of us got one stanza.
