Earlier in the week, I was thinking about Harry Potter, as it's all ending soon. I knew my opinions on it, and my friends', but I was curious about what other people think about it. What better way to find out than to conduct an interview?

I'm going to try a different style of interview. For each answer, I'll add my comments (bolded), if I have any, next to it.

Cass402: What is your opinion on Harry Potter in general?

xLoveEmox: Harry Potter is my life. I've watched and/or read anything and almost everything to do with Harry Potter. J.K. Rowling is a genius. It's the same for me. And yes, J.K. Rowling is definitely a genius.
Pearl44: Well, I don't really like Harry Potter, but I couldn't say I hate it because I've never read the books, and I've only seen part of a movie. You should give them a chance. They're wonderful.
NotANo0b: Well, it was a good idea, but it's not my type of story. I guess that's understandable.
SpOrTyAx: It's nothing really special to me . . .

Cass402: Have you read the books? If so, what did you think? If not, why?

xLoveEmox: I've read every book in the Harry Potter series. I loved them because I read them before seeing any of the movies and I could picture everything in my head. In my opinion, the books were better than the movies. I agree completely. The books are brilliantly written and so descriptive.
Pearl44: I haven't read the books. They just never really interested me. All that wizard stuff isn't my type of thing.
Mehbmegan: I can't say I liked them.
NotANo0b: Yes, and I'd say it was a waste of 3 weeks. In my case, it was the best week spent, reading them. But to each his own, I suppose.
SpOrTyAx: I tried to read the 1st book. But the first few pages kinda bored me. When I first tried to read it, in kindergarten, I felt the same way. But eventually I tried again and fell in love.

Cass402: Have you seen the movies? If so, what did you think? If not, why?

xLoveEmox: I've also seen every movie (that have been released, anyway) and I feel the actors do a wonderful job in portraying their characters. They made the experience even better. I agree with this, too. Daniel Radcliffe is Harry Potter. Rupert Grint is Ron Weasley. Emma Watson is Hermione Granger. Plus, Alan Rickman (Severus Snape), Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange), and Dame Maggie Smith (Minerva McGonagall) are all incredibly talented.
Pearl44: I've seen part of a movie. I'm not sure what part it was, but I didn't really like it.
Mehbmegan: Yes; I didn't like them, but they were much better than the books.
NotANo0b: I've seen 2 of them. They were different than the books. They're actually relatively close, if you look at other book-to-film adaptions. But they do leave a lot of subplots out.
SpOrTyAx: I thought the movies were great. They were interesting.

Cass402: What is your favorite book from the series (if you've read it)? Favorite movie?

xLoveEmox: My favorite book from the series was the seventh one, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows". My favorite movie was the third one, "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban". If I were writing this on Thursday, I would've said the same. But I'm writing this on Friday, after I've seen the final film. And now that is my favorite movie.
Pearl44: I haven't read the books or seen a full movie.
Mehbmegan: It's "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban'. My favorite movie is the same.
NotANo0b: The first one, which was pure wizardry and no romance. They focus too much on romance in my least favorite movie, "The Half-Blood Prince".
SpOrTyAx: I don't know the order, but my favorite one was probably "Deathly Hallows: Part 1".

Cass402: I'm sure you've heard about the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park in Florida. Do you think it was a good idea? Do you think they're pushing the franchise too much?

xLoveEmox: I think the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park in Florida was a GREAT idea. After watching all the movies and reading the books, there's nothing I want more than to experience it in real life, especially Honeydukes and Hogwarts. Honeydukes is amazing. Hogwarts seems so real. It really brings the world to life.
Pearl44: I've heard of it, and I don't really think they're pushing the franchise too much. They're just doing what everyone else does. Advertising.
Mehbmegan: I think it is a good idea because some kids or adults REALLY like Harry Potter. Like me!
NotANo0b: It's a good idea to make money. I went only for the butter drink thing, LoL. Butterbeer. SpOrTyAx: I think it was a good business ideas. Considering that a lot of people adore the series.

Cass402: Have you heard of "A Very Potter Musical", a fan-made parody on YouTube? If you have seen it, what do you think of it?

xLoveEmox: I have heard of "A Very Potter Musical" but, unfortunately, have not been able to see it.
Mehbmegan: Well, if they were making it to make fun of him, I think that it's wrong; you shouldn't make fun of people just because you don't like them. Everyone involved are fans of the series. They weren't doing it because they don't like it, they did it for fun. NotANo0b: I did; it's funny. Indeed it is.
SpOrTyAx: I've heard of it, never seen it.

Cass402: What about the Potter Puppet Pals?

xLoveEmox: Again, I've heard of the Potter Puppet Pals, but have never seen them.
Pearl44: The Muppets who?
Mehbmegan: I think they're just annoying.
NotANo0b: It's cute. SpOrTyAx: I saw like 1 or 2 episodes of it.

Cass402: If you're a fan, how do you feel about the last movie, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2"? Do you feel that it's "the end of an era" or that Harry Potter will live on? If you're not a fan, do you plan on seeing the last movie? Why or why not? (This interview was conducted before the movie came out on July 15th.)

xLoveEmox: The last movie, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2", makes me feel sad that it's ending. I'll probably start crying at the end, just because it's all over. But, I also believe that Harry Potter will live on forever in the hearts of the fans, that it will never die. What would be amazing is if they produced a TV show, picking up from the end of the last movie. I agree, but not about the TV show. It's done, and that's that. (Except for Pottermore, a new website available to the public in October. Not much is known about it, except that it will have a lot of new material.)
Pearl44: I don't plan on seeing it. I don't know the rest of the storyline, so it would probably be really confusing for someone who dosen't know squat about Harry Potter. It would be.
Mehbmegan: I plan on seeing it because I want to see if I'll like this one. I don't see how anybody cannot like it. It's amazing; the best film.
NotANo0b: Probably not. I don't find it interesting.
SpOrTyAx: I will probably see it, since I liked the first part.

Cass402: One final question. I can't resist: Twilight or Harry Potter?

xLoveEmox: Harry Potter. NO CONTEST! Twilight shouldn't even be considered as an option. WOO!
Pearl44: Twilight all the way.
Mehbmegan: Twilight!
NotANo0b: Harry Potter. Twilight was just blehhh. I've read Twilight, and I have to agree.
SpOrTyAx: I honestly have to pick Twilight. I found it more interesting, sorry HP fans. So many rude comments I'm holding back.

So there you have it, the mixed opinions about Harry Potter. I think it's the best thing ever made, but that's just me. What do you think? Tell me in the BBS.

Thanks to everyone who volunteered to be interviewed: xLoveEmox, pearl44, mehbmegan, NotANo0b, and SpOrTyAx.
