Books are filled with a lot of information. There are books almost anywhere you go! There are books at school, at your house, at stores, restaurants, and many more places! Whether we enjoy reading them or not is a whole other story! I am the kind of person that will go to the library and rent out 2-3 books and come back the next day to return them because I didn't like the story. Well, if you do that too then keep on reading because I have a book you might just not be able to put down once you start reading it!
"The Witch of Blackbird Pond" is a great book! It's about a little girl named Kit who comes from a rich town, and she lives in a mansion with her grandfather. When her grandfather passes away she must move away from the town she grew up in, Barbados, and move to her Aunt's house in Westherfield. When she gets there it's not at all what she expects!
When she arrives at Westherfield there are not any large mansions with servants out in the fields, or elegant dresses on any of the town ladies. When she arrives at her Aunt's she must learn the responsibilities that the women must do in town. When she finds it unbearable to do all the chores she finds a friend who can help her through all of it. That friend was a Quaker. The towns people said she was doing witchery so they try to kill her! Kit must risk her life to save her friend. Does she do it? I guess you will just have to read the book to find out!
