Why can't we all just get along?
Why?
Why can't we just say "Hi"?
Why?
Why do we have to be so rude?
Why?
Is this how we want to leave the world to our children?
Think about it...

Editor's Note: It suddenly struck me as I read this poem, that the "newbies" of Whyville are just like children to the veterans and "oldbies". Veterans, when you meet a newbie, remember who you're talking to -- someone who is here to learn from you, and who will take over our world when you are gone. They can be tough to get along with sometimes -- demanding, inquisitive, confused and confusing -- but you know what? So can you!
Think about it. How would you treat your real children?
And newbies, think about your parents -- the people who raise you, help you learn, and care for you. They don't just give you money so you can spend it on whatever you want (sometimes even Whyville!), but instead want you to learn and earn for yourself. The same is true of oldbies in Whyville. They may be bossy, rich, and some may ignore you -- but the good ones won't.
The best thing of all about Whyville is, you can choose your friends and your family!
Be well, and take care of one another.
