An Outbreak of Censorship?

ChinaDawl

I'm back, writing about censorship. Lately, there's been an outbreak of censorship articles. I just read Giggler01 and LilBeaut's articles about dictatorship and it got me thinking. I really have to agree with Giggler01's article. There are a few things that I think LilBeaut's article overlooked.

First off, I do realize that Whyville is like a dictatorship, but what can you expect? Sure, it is our website also but think about it, without City Hall and everyone who works on it, there would be no Whyville and we couldn't even complain about this topic!

You see, these people have a right to run this site. They have a right to run it the way they think they should. There is really no way for Whyville to be completely free! Think about it! I think the idea about having a "Whyville President" and all the other jobs is really cool, but it's virtually impossible. To have one person that all of Whyville elects is not the perfect way of freeing Whyville. City Hall can't trust just anyone with their site and important decisions. Sure, you might say that we, the citizens, vote for these people so they probably are trustworthy, but people can change. They may be nice one day and become a criminal the next.

I don't know if an ordinary teenager can really handle a job that affects all these different people. I don't think many people realize how many complaints, warnings, and other various things there are in a day! Most people may not be able to do that job. I mean, City Hall's an adult, and we complain about her all the time. Imagine if City Hall was just like the rest of us!

Well, that's my look on it. I really think that there is already a great system right now and we shouldn't try to mess with it!

This is ChinaDawl signing out....

Ciao!
