A haunting love story of two fiercely passionate, unforgettable characters, "Wuthering Heights" is classic English literature at its finest. One of the most popular highly regarded novels, written by one of the finest writers of the nineteenth century. Emily Bronte writes a magnificent plot with artistic subtlety and full of vivid imagery. You really do feel like you're standing in England, late 1880's.

Catherine Earnshaw, rebellious in her youth, lived with her family and a boy named Heathcliff, an orphan boy who her father brought home from a business trip. Catherine grows to be an atrociously opinionated woman, and Heathcliff no better. As she grows she finds herself to be in the middle of a love triangle with two men ? or is it love? The novel takes you through generations, teaching the lesson to love the one you truly love.

It could never be said that Catherine and Heathcliff were two of the kindest most sincere characters created. However, the love they feel for each other is one of the most passionate. The great thing about the novel is that it, and its characters, are constantly changing right before our eyes. We see two, fairly innocent, while still rebellious children grow into rather treacherous human beings. Though, the one redeeming quality both Catherine and Heathcliff share is their intense love for each other.

The amount of drama this novel contains is ludicrous. There are the classic love/hate relationships, and the characters are fit to have jumped right out of the juiciest soap opera. Catherine in particular is extremely melodramatic. In the same day she confesses her love to one man, she gives birth to another mans baby. The drama is always leaving you on your toes wondering what will happen next, believe me, nothing is too far fetched. From kidnapping to marrying your cousin. Deception, revenge and betrayal, this novel has it all.

"Wuthering Heights" isn't filled with many sincere characters, but you grow to love them despite what terrible people they are. For many of the characters, we grow with them from childhood right to death. Ever though they do terrible things, it's almost understandable. We see their characters grow and develop as people and we understand why they do some of the things they do, even if we would never think of doing any such things ourselves.

"Wuthering Heights" is a novel of extreme passion, in love and hate alike. We see the span of an entire lifetime and generations to come. I highly recommend this novel to absolutely anyone. At first glance it seems as though it may be dull and dry; I can assure you, it's far from it. It has one of the thickest plots filled with drama, romance and revenge. "Wuthering Heights" is an intense love story with a bittersweet ending, perfectly suitable for the novel itself. If you're not already dying to know the rest of Catherine and Heathcliff's story, you will be once you start the book!
