The new year has finally come and this year I decided things were going to change! I thought back to last year's resolutions and felt like I didn't keep up with them at all. So this year I was set to change things. My resolutions were different from past years' ones. I thought hard as I watched Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year Eve's party. And I came up with a couple resolutions that I am excited to work on.

My New Year's resolutions are:

1) I will be my own person, and not worry about looking like a certain person, or trying to make someone like me by changing to dress and act like them. I know that this year I seemed to change my moods constantly and people would just think I was crazy and weird, but I am set to change that. But I won't be so strange anymore. I don't want to scare people, so I'll calm down and be cool from now on. Everyone is unique and those people are insecure inside just like everyone else, so if we all are our own selves, we'll have more fun and be comfortable around each other

2) The second resolution is to work on what I want. If I really want to keep up the good grades and all A's, I should be able to do that. I plan on working as hard as possible on schoolwork and work in general, and not to let anything get in the way of that. I really want to get high test scores and good marks on my report cards (as I am sure most of you do).

3) And my last resolution (for now) is that I will try new things. Last year I procrastinated a lot on a lot of things, but I am ready to start on my dreams from an early age. No more excuses will be made. I will have inspiration from everything and will try to work on what I want in the future. And any chance I get to do something fun, I won't say no, because last year was really mellow and every day was a routine.

I know some of these things sound kind of weird, like the third one, about working on my dreams. I really want to be an actress, so whenever there are auditions I don't try to call and try out. I say I'll do it another time or make up an excuse for not going when I'm really just nervous. When the time is right, I'll be ready!

This new year is going to be a really great one, I can tell already. I am excited for new movies (The Hunger Games), and new books (continuations in my favorite series) . I think everyone is really excited to get a fresh start in 2012. And whatever people say about the world ending, I don't believe that. I think we should all work hard on making each new year better than the last!

Whyville does an amazing job in finding writer's talents from so deep inside and I think that is really cool. I know I get really excited to write a new article and to read the new ones. So, are you guys working on any resolutions? If so, please share on the BBS.

I hope you all have an amazing new year and are as excited as I am for upcoming events, movies, etc. Happy 2012 to all the Whyvillians out there!
