Yup, it's me, City Worker Turnip, here to explain to you how the voting for this year's Prom King and Queen is going to work. I'm also here to let you know who's winning so far.
If you were around for last year's Halloween costume contest or the New Year's Ball, you know the basics already. To vote for someone, simply go into any chat room in Whyville and say "vote so-and-so", where so-and-so is the name of the person you're voting for. So, for example, if you wanted to vote for Akbar, just type in "vote Akbar".
You don't need to type in quotes around your vote, although it will work. If you say "I'm going to vote Turnip", that will also count as a vote.
Think carefully before you vote! You can only vote for each person once no matter how often you say their name. If you vote for your best friend today, then you have a fight and change your mind, you won't be able to take your vote back. You can still vote for someone else, but both votes will count, so really, you are only making your own opinion be worth less. Think about it this way: if you voted once for every citizen of Whyville, then it is just like you never voted at all, because your vote isn't making anyone a winner.
Votes for King and Queen must be cast by midnight, Friday the 24th. There will be an additional voting event the day of the Prom (the 25th) to choose the citizen with the Best Costume, so dress nicely, or crazily, or however you like!
