"Jaden?"

"Is that you, Bella? I can't see." Jaden said.

"What do you mean you can't see" I asked. "Your eyes are open."

"I don't know. I just . . . Can't see. I can't feel my body. I can barely even hear anything."

Grace walked over to Jaden and touched his hand. "Can you feel that?"

"Feel what?"

"I'm touching your hand." Grace said.

Then, in the blink of an eye, Jaden and Grace were gone. I was left alone in the white room with the blinding light.

The light seemed to begin moving slowly. I could see it's shadow creeping across the room. That sweet melody that had been drifting through the air had disappeared, just like Jaden and Grace.

I crawled backwards, trying to get away from the light. I found myself unable to move anymore. Whatever had happened to Jaden seemed to be happening to me, too. I couldn't feel my body. It was as if I was suspended in air.

The light stopped moving. A bitter silence clung to the air. My eyes slammed shut. I tried so hard to open them, but I couldn't.

I fell into a deep sleep.

Grace's POV

I grabbed Jaden's hand as we whirled around through the air. I had no clue what was going on. One minute we were in a white room with Bella. And the next, we were soaring through the air. There was darkness all around us. All I could see was Jaden and the envelopes that were still in his hand.

We fell to the ground. It was still dark. "Jaden, can you hear me? Can you see me?"

He rubbed his eyes with his hand. "Yeah, I'm good now. What's going on?"

I grabbed Jaden and pulled him towards me. I looked at him and whispered, "We're dead." I could see sparkling tears form around his eyes. But he just looked away from me.

A dark creature appeared around us. I couldn't see it well, but I screamed when I heard it's voice. Jaden put his arm around my shoulders. "It's okay," he assured me.

"Who's there?" I called out.

The creature crept closer to us. "I'm a messenger. I was sent here to talk to you two." He snapped his fingers and a light appeared around him. He was dressed in black and hanging in the air. "Are you Grace Farrell and Jaden Roberts?"

I hesitated to answer. But Jaden didn't. "Yes," Jaden said firmly. "What do you want?" He demanded.

"I want to talk to you." The messenger darted towards us and we fell backwards. We were sitting on the ground, unable to get up.

"I'm Darren, the messenger. Welcome to Heaven!" he said with pleasure in his voice.

"How . . . How did we . . . die?" I begged.

"Don't you remember?" Darren asked us with a creepy smile. Half of his teeth were missing or chipped. The other half were yellow.

I thought back to the minutes leading up to the white room. To be honest, I couldn't remember much.

"Let me help you," Darren said. He bent down and touched my head. It all came back to me.

"Oh . . . Bella and I heard a knock on the door. We went outside . . . and something grabbed me. I remember I had a huge scar but I couldn't feel anything."

"That's right. That was me who grabbed your leg. I needed you to come here, but I didn't want you to feel too much pain." Darren told me.

"Why did you want me here? And I also remember someone just closed the front door . . . but it wasn't me or Bella. Was that you?" I asked curiously.

"Someone . . . needed to see you here. And yes, that was me." Darren chuckled. He seemed to take death as some kind of joke.

Jaden turned to me. "I think I was shot."

Darren smiled. "Oh, yes! You and Bella were shot. By me, of course."

"And why do I have these three envelopes in my hands?" Jaden asked, looking down at the envelopes.

"Those are from a special someone. When you see Bella, you can open them!"

"Where's Bella? And who needed us here?" I asked.

"Bella is asleep right now. You'll get to see her later. Her Aunt Debby ordered to bring you, Jaden, Bella and Bella's parents here! Debby needs to talk to you . . . I believe she'll be here in a minute!"

Bella's POV

I woke up in the same white room I had been in before. But I was alone. That blinding light was no where to be found.

I stood up and stretched. I felt like I had been asleep for years and had just woken up. My body was stiff and cold. If death was always like this, I'd have to learn to get used to it.

I began to wonder if this room ever came to and end. I walked in one direction for awhile, but I had no luck. No matter which way I went, there was no end. And there were no people either.

I didn't know where Jaden and Grace were. I realized that my memory was becoming blurry. How did I even get here? I could remember a sharp pain back at Grace's house. And I remembered the envelope outside her front door. Where had that envelope even gone?

I walked for about another half hour or so before I stopped. There was a mirror straight ahead of me. Hesitantly, I walked towards it.

It was suspended in air. There was nothing else around it. I looked at in and jumped at my reflection. How could that be me?

My eyes were almost black. My face was pale. There were knots all over my hair and it was covered in what looked like dirt. My clothes were stretched out and torn. Is this what death looks like?

I touched my face and saw my reflection copy me. I jumped back and fell to the floor when a new face appeared in the mirror.

I fell backwards and rubbed my eyes. "Is that you, Aunt Debby?"
