Most, if not all of us, have faced the ominous monster known as presentation. Some handling it better than others, I was of course the latter. After a great deal of heinous presentations, they slowly started improving as I picked up on information steadily.
I've put together a list of tips for those of you who have some difficulty with doing presentations.
Power points ALL the way!
These are hands down the best way to get your point across without rambling on and on from a report
Project
Not many people are masters at comprehending the language known as mumbling. Be loud and proud! This shows you have both confidence in what you are saying, as well as yourself in general.
Movement = Bad
Yes, I'm talking to those of you who like to dance around your nervousness and you fidgeters as well. All that movement ends up detracting away from what you're doing as the audience just watches you move around.
Umms
These are an absolute no-no when it comes to presenting. They mainly occur when your brain is thinking up what you're going to say next while your mouth lags behind and is left stranded. Take your time to form your sentences, pauses are definitely acceptable.
Other sources
It is one thing to do a lecture on a subject. But something as simple as a diagram you explain or a working model can bring your presentation to an entirely new level. Don't limit yourself to the basic information.
I wish you luck with your future presentations.
