Everyone - no matter how ugly, stupid, fat or thin they are - deserves a self-esteem that soars beyond the sky. Nobody's flawless or ever will be yet why do we all seek perfection? Why do we cake our faces in make-up or stop eating a ridiculous amount?
There's only one answer: Insecurity.
To some degree everyone is insecure. But the thing is they shouldn't be at all. No one should be.
Nobody has ever lived there life without a rude remark being passed their way. But the thing we fail to remember is that we haven't lived our life without being given a kind compliment. And that's what we need to focus on.
The secret to self-esteem is simply to be happy for who you are. A famous quote by Dr Seuss is "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
Why dwell on the bad side when you've got a whole good side to focus on? Think positively and focus on the good aspects about yourself. No one is completely amazing but no one is completely horrible either.
Don't worry. Nobody judges you harder than yourself. You spend a good percentage of your life in front of the mirror fretting that your new haircut is too short and makes you look ugly. Half of the people you encounter don't even notice you got a haircut - let alone comment on it.
The fact is everyone else worries too. It's not just you. Everyone else has had a massive pimple once or twice in their lifetime. Everyone else has lived a day with crazy hair. You're not the only one. So live it up. No worries mate is what they say.
Perfection cannot be achieved because everyone has a different definition of perfection. Twist your mind into knowing that your definition of perfect is you. It really is true.
Wake up every morning, look in the mirror and tell yourself "I'm beautiful. I feel terrific. I'm beautiful." It really does work in the long run. Focusing on negative thoughts will get you nowhere.
You are amazing. You are wondrous. You're a definition of perfection.
Always remember the secret to self-esteem. Be happy being imperfect. Imperfection is what makes you perfect.
