The soft songs of innocence seized me away
His string of sweet nothings played and replayed
Endlessly swirling, swooping through air,
With me in a trance to which none could compare
Amidst that warm, soft touch and the reverie's daze
A trifling voice slipped past the thick haze
It told me to leave, quickly, away!
For his love was another's, my heart he'd betray.
But up on that cloud, with him by my side
My heart was my master and would not be defied
Love wound its fair chains, and though I would try,
It kept me sweetly captive like a blanket at night
