Does It Matter?

I'm sure I'm not the only Whyville citizen that thinks what I am about to say is true and fair. For the Prom on May 25th, we are supposed to vote for a prom queen and a prom king. The unfairness in this is obvious. There are about one hundred well-known Whyvillians who will be voted for, but maybe three of those Whyvillians deserve it. people will vote for one of these 100 citizens just because they've heard the name. What about the other 199,900 of us? What chance do we have? It's almost sad how stereotypical we can catch ourselves being, but even worse when we don't know what to do about it.
I'm not saying you should vote for me. Not at all. I don't want to be prom queen. Receiving this title would be against everything I stand for. So if you feel that you should, go into that voting booth or whatever and vote for whatever Whyville veteran you want. But when I walk in that day, I'm voting for bubble486, the most down-to-earth Whyvillian I know.

Are the Compliments Real?
Lately, does it seem like some people are just throwing compliments at you? Well, that's certainly been the case for me. The conversation usually starts off with "Wow, you're really pretty..." but what does that lead to? I'm sure most of you know. Sure, the greetings might be just niceness, but for some, the next line is "Vote me for prom queen/king". Is that fair? No! I just wanted all of you citizens to watch out for the people who do that and vote for the ones who you think truly deserve to be voted for. Not the ones who compliment you simply to get your vote.
See You Later...
