I watched the trees sway in the breeze. The wind looked very strong as the leaves flipped graciously. Something just wasn't right today, though. I looked around at all the beautiful things I see everyday. They didn't seem as beautiful as usual. It was then when I realized what was going on. Everything was gray and blurry. All the noises I heard were slurred and not fully there. The most important thing I realized was the wind. I saw it, but I couldn't feel it. I knew it was there, I wasn't losing it. Or at least I think. I looked down at my body. It was a big shadow. All my feature were blurry and see through. Was this really happening? I looked around again . . . Am I dead? Those words kept turning around in my head. The one word that caught me the most wouldn't stop coming back . . . Dead . . . Me . . . Dead.
To my luck I hadn't fully confirmed I was dead. I had no idea how to find out. What if this was just a crazy dream? Then it came to me. There were so many objects around. I finally realized all my surroundings. I was at my family's apartment complex. Then I saw it, only a few feet away. The complex's dumpster. I started to run straight toward it full speed. I closed my eyes as I got nearer. I kept running for a couple of seconds and still felt nothing. I slowed to a trot and opened my eyes. I slowly looked around. I ran straight through the dumpster. It was decided. I was dead.
I bet your wondering what I did after I found out I was dead. I didn't really know what to do. Finding out your dead isn't a everyday thing. I looked around and saw my mom, dad, and little brother walk out of my apartment door. They looked mortified. My parents quickly got in the car, my brother, Jason, wobbling behind them crying. I heard a faint noise from his scramble of words. "Will she be okay? I want to see her mommy!" I didn't know what to do. I did the only thing that crossed my mind. "Mom! Mom! Mommy! I am here! I am alive! Mommmmmmy!" They continued to hop in the car. I ran swiftly over to the car and I walked through the car door and sat right next to Jason. I waved my hands in front of his face. "Jason! Tell mommy I'm here! I am okay! Jason! Please! Tell me you hear me!" I felt a overwhelming emotion come over me.
All of a sudden I heard a voice. "He's not going to help you when all you ever did was pick on him."
I looked around in panic. My dad started to drive down the road to the high school. All around was ambulances, cops, and people gathered all around. The car slammed to a break. I quickly jumped out and followed behind my parents. There in the middle of all the people was my car. My mom shoved all the people and went under all the "Do Not Pass" signs. She kept going until she was next to the car. I saw cops chasing after her as she fell to the ground next to the smashed car. I walked over to the car and realized why she was crying. It finally hit me. I was dead. Smashed. Caput. Dead. Dead. Dead.
The voice came back once again. "This is better for your family. They won't have to pay for your school funds anymore, for your food, and everything you need." The voice kept continuing as the same word popped up in her head constantly.
Dead.
