Hello my fellow writers. One of the hardest things about writing is coming up with an idea to write about. We often call this "writer's block". You know that there are endless possibilities, but that almost makes it harder. Trying to pick something to write about can be extremely difficult. So that's where I come in! I'm hoping to inspire you all each week with a few prompts to get your creative juices flowing. These prompts are just for inspiration, so feel free to take them and morph them into your own ideas.
Prompt 1: Are You Ready For Some Football?
Football season is here! I am a huge football fan of both college and NFL team. Of course I root for the UCLA Bruins (my alma mater), but I am also a fan of Virginia Tech and Penn State (since those are the schools my siblings went to). I am also a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. I was born in Wheeling, WV and my entire family is from that area. I was a cheerleader growing up so I really enjoyed being right on the sidelines and being a part of the game.
So who are your favorite teams and why? What are your football traditions? Have you ever been to a game? Share your thoughts about the start of the football season and your predictions for who will make it all the way to the championships!
Prompt 2: Fashion Explosion
One of the biggest events in fashion is happening right now . . . New York's Fashion Week! Are you a budding designer or a fashionista? Report on the all runway shows and the latest trends. Show your fellow Whyvillians how they can get the latest fashion at an affordable price. Write a biography about your favorite designer. You can even put together some looks from Akbar's so your avatar can walk the runway.
Prompt 3: Tech Savvy
This week is the long anticipated press conference for the release of the iPhone 5. Many bloggers have been trying to figure out what the newest and improved features will be. The iPhone changed the world of cellphones when it launched in 2007. There are a lot of people who are huge fans, and there are a lot of people who just don't get the hype. Will you be getting the new iPhone? What features are you most looking forward to exploring? Or do you think that there is a better phone for you?
